A commendable circulated example of the only collectable 1873-CC Without Arrows silver coin. Much rarer than its With Arrows counterpart subtype from the same year, this date-variety half dollar is always popular with collectors.

The obverse displays an almost sunset-pink-red-blue color scheme, with specks of green added in around Ms. Liberty’s body. A great deal of detail remains on the raised devices, a feature that is especially true of the reverse. This side of the coin, with the eagle boldly represented from top to bottom and side to side, possesses the characteristics of an XF-45 specimen—possibly even AU-50—with traces of luster peeking through the light steel-gray-mauve-colored tint. Dark green patina spreads around the mintmark area down through the words HALF and DOL., which gives the reverse a vintage antique appearance.

This beauty will fit nicely into any high grade circulated set of Carson City half dollars.
