This is an example of the Type Two Reverse (Closed Bud). It displays a Medium “CC” mintmark. It is listed as the WB-103 variety, which features a Die Pair 6.  Specialists recognize it as a rare variety. Additionally, this specimen was struck during the sole use of the heavily rusted obverse die paired with a heavily-used reverse, which is confirmed by a bold, long die-line in the eagle's upper left wing (facing). This is a visually impressive near-Mint example with vividly attractive multi-colored toning from long-time storage in a cardboard album or an old-time envelope. The peripheries on both sides are where the colors come alive, with shades of blue, green, lavender, crimson, and yellow in full glory. This piece radiates beaming luster despite its brief trek in circulation. From the Dick Osburn Collection.
