This is a well preserved example of the most common date in the Carson City Liberty Seated quarter series. Ample luster radiates from behind a thin, dusty-auburn-colored haze (very light on the reverse). The strike is razor sharp. Multiple die cracks (one running through the 8 in the date extending to the base of the foundation upon which Ms. Liberty is seated) are visible on both sides. Small raised lumps of metal in various locations give evidence that this coin was struck on slightly rusted dies. Contact marks are minimal for the condition rating.

This piece has a much better appearance than the MS-62 grade suggests.
