This lovely piece displays the frosty white appearance of fresh fallen snow. It looks like it just left the Carson City Mint a week ago. The obverse displays an ultra clean puffy cheek on Ms. Liberty and practically mark-free fields. It has the Gem quality look that could serve as the “poster” appearance for all “CC” Morgan silver dollars.

The reverse, with its flat-breasted eagle originally seen on the silver dollars from 1878, sparkles just as much as the obverse. Some extremely light shades of auburn haze swirl around the words in the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. A few small contact marks are visible on the eagle and in the fields on either side of it. Raised lumps of metal produce a granular effect around and below the words WE TRUST.

This splendid piece is the VAM-4 variety, with the digits 80 repunched over 79.
