This Lexington-Concord sesquicentennial commemorative half dollar represents the legendary Minute man and the Old Belfry at Lexington exquisitely. Rust and crimson-colored toning etches its way around the Minute Man's frame. Luster beams radiantly through the delicate patina. The reverse displays mostly white silvery surfaces, with just a light translucent haze drifting across them. There is vast field-area incorporated into this commemorative's design, which opens the coin up to having received numerous contact marks. The example offered has only minimal surface blemishes, none of which are detracting.

The government issued the Lexington commemorative half dollars in small wooden matchbox-like containers, with the images on the coin etched onto the front and back sides of the mini-box. The coin offered here displays the vintage appearance of having been housed at one time in such a container.

The Plus designation assigned by PCGS signifies that this is a borderline MS-67 specimen. If this coin did receive an upgrade from MS-66+ to MS-67 its value would more than double. As it is, its current price and its premium quality are a perfect match.
