The obverse of this 1881-CC GSA glistens with an appealing, satiny finish. Minute contact marks are visible, mostly located on Ms. Liberty’s face and neck. The reverse is dramatically unusual, with the central area veiled in shades of turquoise, navy, sea green, and violet. The upper portion has a steel-grey “checker-like” pattern, mirroring the texture of the canvas bag it was once stored in. No contact marks are visible on the reverse, and any minute flaws are camouflaged under the patina. This specimen is sure to please any GSA collector with a flare for something different.
