Old Green Holder

This piece offers an appearance of what most small Uncirculated Carson City–minted silver coins would look like if they weren’t dipped. The surfaces are veiled in greyish-charcoal-colored haze, with mottled drab-green toning around the peripheries.

Scattered contact marks on the obverse are what lower this coin’s condition rating to 63 points. The reverse fields are much cleaner, probably qualifying for a 64-point grade. The strike is bold, with all details on the raised devices well defined. Heavy clashmarks are visible on both sides of Ms. Liberty’s body.
