Mintage: 214,560

To an untrained eye, this 1873-CC With Arrows half dollar would seem Mint State. But, as the NGC certificate reveals, this specimen just barely misses that category. Both sides of this piece are veiled in a mauve-taupe patina, which still allows the cartwheel luster to shine through. The obverse is bold, and only the highest points show any signs of wear. The folds in Liberty’s gown are all visible, as is the detail on her shield. On the reverse, the eagle’s neck and wing feathers are brilliant. The strike is bold, allowing the eagle and other devices to stand out against the fields. This toned specimen is sure to thrill any mid-range budget-minded “CC” half dollar collector.
