It isn’t often that an ICG-graded coin makes its way onto our website, but this key date certainly warrants an exception. Both sides are steel-grey in color, with expected amounts of contact marks for the grade. The obverse shows heavy wear to the point that the devices are mostly flat and smooth. The letters on the reverse motto scroll are worn off, although the outline of the scroll is well defined. Feathers and other details on the eagle have begun to blend together. Still, for those of you searching for a relatively inexpensive example of this key date to add to your “CC” half dollar collection, this is the coin for you.
