With the surfaces reflecting an artificial-looking shine and the lack of dirt in the crevices considering the AU-55 grade, there’s no doubt that this coin was once cleaned. On the obverse, there are a few abrasions and scratches on the fields as well as in Ms. Liberty herself—a noticeable one is on her right hand. There’s also a sunset-orange crescent toning along the stars. The reverse shows a lot of detail in the eagle’s feathers and its clawed talon, which really accentuates the design from the fields.
