A lightly toned example of the scarcer of the two 1873-CC half dollar varieties. Ample luster beams through the layers of auburn-grey patina covering both sides of the coin. All raised devices, except star No. 7, which is a little flat, are well defined.

Small specks of dark dust and a few reddish-mauve spots are visible on and around Ms. Liberty’s body. Some small ticks and a few patches of scattered hairlines show up under heavy magnification. Otherwise, there are no marks worthy of mention.

Overall, this piece meets all requirements for the AU-50 condition rating.
