This Liberty Seated half from the Carson Mint has it all. Even with the condition rating of only XF-40, on the obverse there’s still a bit of steely luster emanating off the portrait of Ms. Liberty. Dust has made its way into the crevices of all the devices, but rather than lessening the eye appeal, it in turn emphasizes all the detail still remaining. On the reverse, the color is a little duller, but it is still the classic steel-grey that coin collectors come to value in mid-grade-range coins. The eagle’s shield shows signs of wear, flattened slightly. And due to the grime in between letters, the wording surrounding the periphery of the reverse seems to jump right off the coin. This piece would be perfectly suited for a budget-minded collector who seeks originality in his set of “CC” halves.
