This must be one of the most dazzling specimens of this Centennial Year quarter ever discovered. Both sides exhibit blinding snow-white luster. The obverse indicates the coining department at the Carson City Mint went to great efforts to mitigate a rusted die that had also cracked. Numerous raised die polish lines zigzag across the fields. At least forty pimply raised dots of metal cover the area around the date and extend to the fields around stars one through six. Die cracks circumvent the coin’s obverse periphery.
Diagnostics on the frosty reverse include die cracks and clash marks. Both sides of the coin display scattered contact marks but you won’t notice them. You will be mesmerized by the coin’s dazzling appearance.
