Trade Dollars
The Trade dollar was spawned by the so-called “Crime of 1873.” Silver from the Comstock Lode in Nevada was used to produce many Trade dollars at all the U.S. Mints in operation.
Of the six dates struck at the Carson City Mint, two are considered very rare, the 1873-CC and the 1878-CC.
