This is an incredibly eye-catching example of this common date Lincoln Wheat cent. The strike is razor-sharp on both sides, clearly accentuating all devices against the fields. The obverse has coppery cartwheel luster, with full detail present on Lincoln’s beard, hair, and coat. Even the intricate folds of Lincoln’s ear are visible without the aid of a loupe. There are a few copper spots in the fields, but they don’t detract from this specimen’s beauty. On the reverse, the wheatears are fully intact, with all elements of the original engravings present. If you are looking for an exemplary Red example for your Lincoln cent collection, this piece has so much to offer.
