Half Dollars
Now seen as a somewhat-forgotten denomination, half dollars were once very common in United States pocket change. The first Flowing Hair half dollars were struck in 1794. The denomination then evolved from Draped Bust, to Capped Bust, to Liberty Seated, to Barber, to Walking Liberty, to Franklin, and finally to Kennedy designs. Until the Franklin type, half dollar obverses displayed various forms of Ms. Liberty, with different images of an eagle on the reverse.
