At 190 years old, this Capped Bust quarter has much to offer. Both sides are a dark, steel-grey color, with tiny bits of grime residing in the crevices. The obverse portrait retains a lot of the detail in Ms. Liberty’s hair, with the folds in her cap and the sharpness of the word LIBERTY clearly visible. The reverse shows more wear to the naked eye, with two notable marks: one is a large horizontal scratch across the eagle’s shield, and the second is a nick in the field to the left of the eagle’s beak. Despite these rather obscure blemishes, if you’re looking for an early Circulated Capped Bust quarter, this one is sure to please.
