The combined PCGS-NGC population for 1918-D quarters in MS-66FH condition is 27. This number is skewed by at least 10 due to resubmissions of the same coins. There are no examples of this date graded in MS-67FH or higher conditions.

The census figures do not take into account that not all MS-66FH-graded examples are created equal. There are obviously specimens in this grade category that tower above other similarly graded pieces. The coin offered here is a perfect of example of this variance. It is as white as fresh-fallen snow and the luster is as bright as a noonday sun. The surfaces shimmer with sensual radiance. You can count the coin’s contact marks on one thumb-less hand, and the details on all the raised devices have that chiseled-in-stone appearance.
