This is a coin for the collector who wants all of the attributes of an MS-65 Full-Head specimen for only half the cost. You will truly marvel at this coin's eye appeal. The surfaces are bright silvery white, with the crisp look of a newly minted coin. The details are incredibly bold due to a monster strike, with the three leaves on the side of Liberty's head, and the ear hole clearly visible. On a date notorious for weakly struck examples this piece bucks the trend. The only softness worth noting is on the three rivets on the bottom of the shield (perhaps this is what kept PCGS' graders from designating the coin an MS-65). A few very light marks are visible on both sides, but not enough to degrade this splendid specimen.

The San Francisco Mint struck 2.7 million quarters in 1926 and of that total PCGS has graded approximately 355; with just 56 designated as Full heads. The unaudited count lists 21 MS-64FHs, 12 MS-65FHs, and 10 MS-66FHs (and certainly, at least a small percentage of this total of 43 is due to resubmissions of the same coins). We've sold several of the MS-66FHs, and a few of the MS-65-FHs, and we can't remember any of them possessing that much more splendor than the piece offered here.
