Appraisals

If you are looking to settle an estate, insure your collection, or just have a professional numismatist catalog and evaluate your coins, currency, or casino chips, Southgate Coins offers appraisals.

Our certified appraiser, Rusty Goe, is an expert in numismatics and precious metals, with over 37 years experience (dating back to 1981) in these markets. His expansive library of reference material and his keen knowledge of the markets will cover your appraisal needs for United States coinage and currency, gold, silver, and platinum bullion, and casino chips and memorabilia. Appraisal backdating (as per date of death, transference of estate, etc.) is available upon request.

WE APPRAISE COINS, PAPER MONEY, AND BULLION.

Your collection will be itemized and valued, and printed on company letterhead. You can choose to have the appraisal done listing either liquidation or retail value (or both, if needed). Banks, lawyers, courts, insurance companies, and trust and estate departments accept these appraisals. Appraisal fees are available upon request.

To speak to a Southgate Coins professional about getting an appraisal, first email us on our contact page. We will be glad to assist and instruct you in this process.

WHAT ARE MY RARE COINS WORTH?

If you are not looking for an itemized, printed appraisal, we suggest you buy the latest-year Handbook of United States Coins, commonly referred to as the Blue Book. Similar to the Kelley Blue Book for cars, this reference guide lists every coin ever minted in the United States, and provides the rarity and value of each. The Blue Book can be found at most major bookstores.
