No one will question this 1881-CC GSA silver dollar’s exquisite eye appeal. Its surfaces radiate with frosty-white luminous luster. The obverse’s surfaces display minimal contact marks. Lady Liberty’s cheek is virtually blemish-free. One tiny horizontal cut on her mid-cheek next to her ear is the only mark visible. The obverse fields are free from all but the most minor of marks. Thin abrasions glide vertically up the left obverse fields to the right of stars 4 and 5 and next to the letters E and P above.

The reverse is even freer from marks than the obverse. One very small horizontal scratch to the right of the eagle’s lower right feathers is the only one worth mentioning.

CAC had many reasons to approve this desirable specimen’s grade. It is indeed very high end for the MS-65 rating.
