Although it would affect its price, this coin is probably worthy of a 5-point upgrade, the one thing holding it back is the weakness on the center letter in the word LIBERTY on the obverse’s heraldic shield. Both sides of this antique looking specimen are veiled with a light burgundy-turquoise-amber-colored haze. Only a few small abrasions blemish the surfaces. The reverse details qualify for at least the VF-30 grade.

We estimate that no more than 500 problem-free 1872-CC half dollars have survived from the original mintage figure.
